The system a publisher runs its commercial side on: subscribers, advertisers, orders, circulation, events and renewals.
Publishers and media
Readers and advertisers, on one system.
A publisher runs two businesses that depend on each other and are almost never held in the same place. Subscribers sit in a circulation list, advertisers in a sales spreadsheet, insertion orders in email, and the numbers that connect them get assembled by hand before every meeting. The publishers edition of Yumin CRM keeps both sides on one record.
Sound familiar?
Three things we hear from publishing teams.
The circulation list and the CRM disagree
Subscribers exist in one system, sales contacts in another, and the same person is in both under two spellings. Nobody can say whether the marketing director you are pitching is already a paying reader, or whether the company you are chasing has forty bulk copies sitting in reception.
Insertion orders live in email
A booking is agreed on a call, confirmed in a message, changed twice, and the only record is a thread. Production works from a different list, finance invoices from a third, and the month-end argument about what actually ran is an annual tradition.
Renewals happen or they do not
Subscriptions lapse quietly. Nobody is told until the numbers drop, and the recovery campaign goes to a list that includes people who cancelled, people who died and people who renewed last week. The churn is visible only after it has happened.
What is included
Six modules, configured before you log in.
Subscribers and readership
One record per reader and per subscribing organisation, with the subscription itself as a separate object: title, term, format, price, start and end, delivery address, and how it was sold. Print, digital and bundled subscriptions, gift and bulk orders, controlled and complimentary copies each behave correctly rather than being squeezed into one field.
Renewals and churn
Renewal dates, notice periods, automatic and manual renewals, and the sequence of reminders that goes with each. Lapsing subscribers are visible before the date rather than after it, win-back campaigns are built from who actually lapsed and why, and the Growth cloud shows retention by title, format and cohort.
Advertisers and agencies
Advertisers, the agencies that buy for them and the brands underneath, held as related records so a media buyer moving agency does not break the relationship. Rate cards, agreed discounts, annual commitments and the history of what each advertiser has run and paid for sit on the record rather than in a partner's memory.
Insertion orders and delivery
Bookings as structured records: title, issue or campaign dates, position, size or placement, rate, agency commission, status and approvals. Production sees a confirmed schedule, finance invoices from the same object, and changes are versioned, so what was agreed and what ran are both answerable questions.
Circulation and reporting
Print run, distribution points, bulk drops, digital registrations and reader engagement held together, so the circulation story you tell advertisers comes from your own records. Reporting covers subscriptions by title and format, joiners and lapsers, advertising sold by advertiser and sector, and yield, produced from live data rather than a monthly spreadsheet.
Events and awards
The conferences, awards nights, roundtables and briefings a publisher runs alongside the title, built off the subscriber and advertiser lists so invitations, tables, sponsorship and attendance attach to the same records. Sponsorship sold for an event shows on the advertiser's record beside their print and digital spend.
Five things that run themselves on WhatsApp
Illustrative. These are the five workflows we set up most often for a publisher. Yours are configured to your own titles, terms and wording before go-live.
A subscription is taken out
Confirmation of the title, term and first issue, from your official number.
30 days before the subscription ends
A renewal notice with the price and a payment link, and one reminder if it goes unpaid.
A subscription lapses
A short win-back message, and the record moves to lapsed so no one pitches them as current.
An insertion order is confirmed
The advertiser and the agency both get the confirmed detail, and production gets the schedule entry.
Copy or artwork is due
A deadline reminder to the advertiser, then an alert to your team if it has not arrived.
Every row is a rule you can change, switch off or add to. Nothing sends without your templates being approved first, and a reply comes back to a person in the shared inbox.
Add the parts that reach readers and buyers directly.
Yumin Connect puts subscriptions and ad sales on one official WhatsApp number with a shared inbox. Yumin Answer handles delivery questions and subscription queries out of hours. Yumin Events runs the awards night and the conference, and Yumin Social keeps the title's feed going.
Questions publishers ask
Can it handle print and digital on the same subscriber?
Yes, as separate subscriptions on one record. A reader with a print subscription, a digital login and a place on a newsletter list is one person with three things attached, not three rows, and the renewal logic for each behaves the way that product actually works.
Does it replace our ad server or our CMS?
No. It holds the commercial record: who bought, what they bought, at what rate, when it runs and whether it was paid. Your ad server serves and your CMS publishes, and our team in Dubai connects them so nobody keys the same booking into two places.
Can agencies and advertisers be billed differently?
Yes. The buying agency, the paying entity and the brand being advertised can all be different records, with commission, payment terms and credit handled against whichever one is responsible. The reporting still rolls up to the brand so you can see what an advertiser is worth in total.
What happens to our existing subscriber list?
We migrate it, including history. Expired subscriptions, previous addresses, gift relationships and bulk arrangements are kept rather than flattened, because the lapsed list is usually a publisher's best renewal opportunity. You check a sample before anything goes live.
What does the publishers edition cost?
Get a quote. It depends on the size of your subscriber base, how many staff need a login, which of the six functional clouds you switch on and the migration and integration work involved. Build the shape in the calculator and send it on WhatsApp for a written quote the same day.
Readers on one side, advertisers on the other, one system underneath.
Tell us your titles, roughly how many subscribers you have and how you sell advertising today. We come back the same day with how we would configure the publishers edition and a written quote.
