Privacy policy

1. Who we are

YUMIN TECHNOLOGY L.L.C (“Yumin”, “we”, “us”) is a limited liability company licensed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism licence 1076065. We provide business software and related services, including Yumin CRM, Yumin Connect, Yumin Answer, Yumin Events and Yumin Social.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It applies to our website at yumin.ae, to our products, and to people who contact us.

2. The two roles we act in

As a controller. For our own website visitors, enquirers, customers and their contact people, we decide why and how personal data is processed. This policy governs that processing.

As a processor. When a customer uses our products, they load their own data into them — their customers’ contact details, conversations, event registrations and similar. That data belongs to the customer, who decides why and how it is processed. We process it on their instructions, under the agreement we have with them. If you are that customer’s customer and want your data corrected or deleted, contact them; we will assist them in responding to you.

3. Personal data we collect

Information you give us

• Name, business name, job title, email address, telephone number and WhatsApp number.
• The content of your messages to us, by WhatsApp, email, telephone or a form on our site.
• Billing information, including billing address and VAT registration number where applicable.
• Information you provide during onboarding so we can configure a product for you.

Information we collect automatically

• IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system and language.
• Pages visited on yumin.ae, referring page and the dates and times of those visits.
• Cookie and similar identifiers, as described in our cookie policy.

Information from others

• Payment confirmations and related details from our payment processor.
• Message delivery and conversation metadata from the WhatsApp Business Platform when you communicate with us on WhatsApp.

We do not deliberately collect special categories of personal data — such as data about health, religion or political views — about our own contacts, and we ask that you do not send it to us unsolicited.

4. Why we use it, and on what basis

5. Marketing messages

We send marketing messages only to people who have asked for them or who are existing customers receiving information about services similar to those they already have. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can stop marketing on WhatsApp by replying to ask us to stop, or by using the opt-out the message provides. Withdrawing consent does not affect messages we need to send you about a service you are using, such as an invoice or a service notice.

6. Who we share personal data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who work for us under contract, including our hosting provider, our payment processor (Stripe), our email and communications providers, and Meta Platforms for messages sent and received on the WhatsApp Business Platform. They may use the data only to provide the service to us.
• Professional advisers, including our accountants and lawyers, where they need it to advise us.
• Authorities, where we are required to disclose data by law or by a valid order of a competent UAE authority or court.
• A buyer or successor, if our business or part of it is sold or reorganised, subject to the same protections.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with UAE data protection law, including by putting contractual protections in place with the recipient. Where a customer has agreed a specific hosting region with us, we host their product data in that region and confirm it in writing before setup.

8. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become customers: up to 24 months from the last contact, then deleted.
• Customer account and contract records: for the life of the relationship and then as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes under UAE law.
• Invoices and accounting records: for the period UAE tax law requires.
• Website analytics and log data: as set out in the cookie policy.
• Customer-loaded data held on a customer’s behalf: for as long as the customer’s agreement runs, and then in accordance with that agreement.

9. Security

We protect personal data with access controls, encryption of data in transit, role-based permissions inside our products, logging of access to customer systems, and a limited number of staff who can reach customer data at all. No system can be guaranteed absolutely secure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as UAE law requires.

10. Your rights

Subject to UAE data protection law, you may ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• delete personal data where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
• restrict or object to how we process it;
• transfer it to another provider in a machine-readable form;
• withdraw consent you have given, at any time.

Write to info@yumin.ae and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the competent UAE data protection authority.

11. Children

Our products and website are for businesses. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to info@yumin.ae and we will delete it.

12. Third-party sites

Our website and our messages may link to sites we do not run, including social platforms and payment pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and their own policies apply once you leave us.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will tell customers in advance by email or on WhatsApp.
